Some of you have been looking for ashiatsu bars may find that it is hard to find something portable, affordable, and practical. It can be tough to find something that meets your business’ needs.
There used to be a few options for portable sets available on the internet. I have found recently that many of these options are no longer available. I have followed up with a few of the companies and the discontinuations are due to a lack of demand.
My ideal set is one you can walk under and around. Meaning, if you practice other modalities, these bars would not be in your way and require you to tear them down between clients.
I do not have any portable sets, or portable schematics. available for sale at this time. If at any time I do find a set to recommend or offer for sale, I will make that available on this site.
If you are worried or nervous about installing bars in your massage office, send me an email and we can discuss your options.

Thanks for the information! I had not seen these before.
When I trained with Ashiatsu, one of the big stumbling blocks would have been ( and I believe still is) the bar installation.
One option had been the “wooden portable table contraption” , which on closer inspection was not going to last long with everyday use. In fact, I saw one break apart a another studio and speaking only for myself was not impressed with it since the cost was around 2000.00.
A more stable option is the built in overhead bar situation that we all see, but that also requires certain specifics in the office building structure to make that safely happen.
The landlords for many office buildings don’t want to allow the standard installation from the ceiling, and many ( like mine) are standard office buildings with a drop ceiling with nothing to support it. In addition, the walls , though drywall, are just standing there using the thin metal “2×3” office construction supports and would not have taken the stresses of a wall supported installation.
Most offices will make you hire a contractor to install these bars should you have a supported ceiling or real walls, also adding to the cost and perhaps requiring a permit. You probably WON’T be able to take these with you if you leave that office or lose your lease, as the tear down will probably wreck it.
My husband and I designed an Ashiatsu Cage with , that solves all of the above problems, PLUS allows you to do multiple therapies on the same table. It is always available if one needs to jump up to apply a technique during a standard massage. It is a metal bar cage with 2 inch solid oak bars, 9 feet long set up over ANY table you have with enough room to work around. The side support bars are available for use during a session as well, and the height is adjustable. PLUS, you will always be able to take it with you. We did not plan on it, but other studios have asked to buy my setup once they saw the versatility. If you are interested in more info, or want to see a photo just email me.
I would love to see the “cage” photo. You can send it to ivy@advancedmassagetechniques.com. That would be great for some people looking for alternate options for their room.
Yes! I’m really interested in seeing what you have and or purchasing the plans.
